FAQS

We’ve answered a few of the most frequent questions we get asked below. If you have a question that you don’t see here, just get in touch and we’ll help.

Our Care

Talk with your GP about the type of care you (or your loved one) needs. He or she will be able to give you specifics on the specialised care you need. At Cramond Residence we can help with a wide range of health issues. Talk to us to see if we can meet your needs.

24 hr Nursing care is available. Dementia care is offered within the general group or in our specialist unit depending on the developmental stage of the illness and the presence of any behavioural issues.

We have a ratio of one staff member to every four residents, which allows us to provide excellent levels of individual care and attention. We also check dependency levels on a daily basis and provide flexible staffing levels to accommodate specific needs at specific times.

No, definitely not. Cramond Residence has a luxurious feel which is often compared to a 5-star hotel. This is the case whether you receive nursing care or not.

The Residence

If you come to visit the Residence, you will not need to ask this question!

Lifestyle

Visiting hours are open but we do ask that visitors are responsible and that they take account of their loved one’s needs for rest and therapeutic activity. We also ask that consideration be given to other residents within the Residence.

A typical week might involve afternoon tea at the Royal Botanic Gardens, bridge games, a screening of a popular film, a wine and cheese evening and and an historical talk – something for everyone. A sample of our weekly activities guide can be found here.

Other

When you are sitting down to choose a care home think about location, the essential facilities you’ll need and whether it provides the specialist care you require.
