In this month’s blog, we meet Denise Williams, our new Care Manager who is responsible for the care team who look after our wonderful residents. Denise also conducts our care assessments for residents, helping them plan for any nursing, dementia or respite care needs.
When I was younger, I always wanted to be a nurse as I wanted to care for people. My mum was a nurse and I wanted to follow in her footsteps. I trained as a nurse and then moved to a role within care in the local community. More recently I moved to working in an elderly care home.
In my new role at Cramond, I will support the care team to do their best and to provide a first-class service for residents. I also hope to bring fun and laughter as I am a very upbeat person. Recently, I have been interviewing prospective colleagues to join our growing as part of our spring recruitment campaign.
It is my priority to ensure that all residents are treated with dignity and respect, and enjoy their time with us. I am looking forward to getting to know our residents and their friends and families and also welcoming new ones with open arms.
Day to day, I will be involved in the pre-admission assessments for new residents, as well as care planning. We review resident’s care on an ongoing basis and our electronic care system means that any updates are made instantly.
I absolutely love my new job: there isn’t just one part of it that I find rewarding – all of it is! And, the care home itself is stunning. All of the team are so friendly and have been so incredibly welcoming. It takes a good team to build a good care home – and Cramond Residence will be the best.
I am originally from Edinburgh, but now live in West Lothian. I remember Cramond from when I was growing up, it is a stunning area with a beautiful village and beach. When I’m not working, I enjoy holidays abroad and socialising. I also enjoy spending time with my daughter, son-in-law, and 16-month-old grandson who I adore.
