Gift a little extra this Christmas

09 November 2017

With increasing numbers of elderly people spending Christmas alone we are inviting local people to donate a gift to an elderly person in the community this Christmas.

We have teamed up with local community groups to collect and deliver gifts to members of the Cramond Dementia and Carers Lunch Club, Almond Mains Initiative, or an elderly member of the community living in isolation this Christmas. From 6 November – 1 December, people can leave a gift for Santa under the tree at Cramond Residence’s onsite Information Suite, 49 Cramond Road North, Edinburgh, EH4 6NQ.

Dorothy Brown, our Client Relationship Manager, said: “It’s great to be launching our very first Christmas gift appeal for elderly people in the community.

“The Cramond Dementia and Carers Lunch Club and Almond Mains Initiative are both doing great work to provide somewhere elderly people can socialise and feel part of the community. Through these groups we will also be giving gifts to elderly members of the community who are vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation.

“Please help us spread some extra festive cheer around Cramond this Christmas by popping a gift under our tree at the Information Suite.”

All Christmas gifts should be clearly labelled with details of whether it is best suited for a man or woman. For more information about the Giving Tree, contact Dorothy on 07971 992843, or email dorothy@walkerhealthcare.co.uk.
