Meet our Hairdressers, Julie and Kevin from Campbell Young Hair Design

At Cramond Residence, we have an exclusive partnership with Campbell Young Hair Design, a local and well-established hair and beauty salon. In this blog, Julie and Kevin, the hairdressers who work at our care home in Edinburgh, chat to us about the services they offer.

Once a week, we visit Cramond Residence and meet the residents in the hair and beauty salon, which is decorated to a very high finish like the rest of the care home. The salon has all the equipment needed to provide an excellent service to the residents, including cutting, styling, perming and colouring.

Having your hair done can give all of us a real boost, but we have found it has particular benefits for the residents, both physically and emotionally. We love working at Cramond Residence, and we like helping the residents to feel good about their appearance. As is the case for everyone, if your hair looks good, you feel good! However, it’s not just about having your hair styled. Sitting in the salon with us also gives the residents the chance to meet and chat with someone new. It’s a really social activity.

Between us, we have over 30 years’ experience in the business. We always strive to provide first class care, and it helps that we work in a beautiful environment at the care home. We make sure that from start to finish the experience is warm and welcoming for all the residents.

Working at Cramond Residence is great, and it’s wonderful to know that we are helping the residents to feel good about themselves. After their appointment, if the resident is happy with their desired style, then we are happy.
